Even in this land of plenty, there are many who do not have enough to eat.
Some have nothing to eat at all. Therein lies the motivating force behind the Food Bank Warehouse.
Approximately 30 million poor Americans consistently do not get enough to eat. This is especially hard on the children who must have proper nutrition to learn and do well in school. The Gary and Penny Kloefkorn Food Bank Warehouse was created in 1998 to help locally.

Currently three programs exist to assist.

Hunger Relief Distribution: Approximately 60 relief programs in Wyoming receive food from the Food Bank. They are the front lines between health and happiness versus hunger and despair. In 1997, the Food Bank distributed approximately 214,000 pounds of food - enough to prepare more than 165,000 meals. We hope to distribute over 600,000 pounds of food in 1999.

Repackaging of Bulk Items: With the completion of The Tate Foundation Clean Room, we will be able to repackage bulk items that are donated or purchased from vendors for distribution. We anticipate repackaging items such as flour, sugar, rice or beans. The ASF(agency service fee) will be cost plus a small amount to cover handling and packaging. We will also be able to accept field crops or surplus produce for sorting, cleaning and repackaging for distribution.
